I got a new toy: a 3D Scanner. This is my first use of the scanner. I took a selfie. And 3D-Printed it in white PLA filament. This is also my first use of the CNC mill to carve a true 3D model. I've always done 2-and-a-half-D. The blue block is machinist's wax. It saves on broken tool bits.
About the easel. Every year, the place where I go to paint, the Adult and Senior Activity Center (run by the San Antonio Parks Department) holds an event. It's not a contest, no prizes, no judging. They give you a 12"x12" piece of hardboard and say "Make something". Most people slather gesso on the board and paint a 2D whatawhata and it gets hung flat on the wall. On display for a month. Please note that I took the board and cut an easel out of it. The easel pieces could be put back into the board and it could still be hung on the wall, but if you're going to think outside of the box you've gotta poke out somewhere.
