93.7: ROADSIDE CRITTERS
93.7: ROADSISE CRITTERS: July 2008
Dateline: Chichen Itza
- I'm writing this on the morning of July 8th, but it won't get mailed now because there's not enough internet signal.
- This is my collection from Hannah's snaps on July 5 & 6, 2008. It might be called Roadside Critters. Considering that these are taken from a moving truck, through rain-spattered windows, I think she's doing a GOOD JOB. That phrase "Good Job!" has become a private joke, and it needs to be said with ummph and a hearty thumbs-up.
- We've made it to Chichen Itza. We're staying in a hotel (they never use the word motel) in the town of Piste. Hotel Mayaland. Piste has grown up adjacent to the archeological sites to support the tourists and visa versa. Prices are listed in Pesos, Dollars and Euros.
- Except for the dead air conditioner, the flat tire, the driver's side seat that won't move, and the alarm system that winks and clicks unpredictably, the truck just keeps rolling along.
- We jogged yesterday along the beach in Campeche.
