96: Turkish Oil Wrestling

I thought it would be fun to paint the human form in action. So I looked on the internet for sports photos, particularly wrestling. I found this photo:

I liked the composition, so I painted it. Later, wanting to give credit where credit is due, I looked up the web site again. The photographer is Onur Coban. Only then did I notice a viewer comment:

what an awesome action shot! great muscle definition from the wrestlers. the lighting is quite well managed too. the hand down the pants was great timing! nice technique shown. a fine composition. well done!

Duh! Wikipedia explains Turkish Oil Wrestling: They slather themselves in olive oil. Unlike wrestling anywhere else, grabbing the opponent's leather pants is legal including the dreaded hand down the pants maneuver.
