158: Christina's World (TBA circa Nov) 2017

Christina's World is a painting by Andrew Weyth, 1948. I am turning it into a limestone sculpture. Below are progress pictures. This sculpture is a companion to a sculpture Smelle #110 that was set aside in the year 2010.

So far only these tooth chisels have been used. The limestone was cut with an ordinary cross cut saw.

This time it's mostly rasps and riffles.

. How about an animated gif. This involved a lazy susan from the thrift store and a papoose board for the iPad.

158: 2017-Dust Box Dec 2017

To contain the dust of limestone sculpting, Smelle made a collapsible enclosure using cardboard, pegboard, card-stock paper, white glue, box tape, wire ties, zippers, a 1 inch x 2 inch x 7 foot wood ridge beam, 2 finishing nails, string, spring-loaded slides. It is 1 inch thick when flattened, 7 feet x 5 feet x 7 feet tall opened.
